Project: The Psychosocial and Educational Support for Vulnerable Youth programme

Project goals

CARE’s programmes in Ingushetia and Chechnya focus on community mobilization and local capacity building in order to strengthen local people’s own resources in reconstruction and peace-building efforts. CARE Ingushetia & Chechnya provides a variety of projects that benefit youth, vulnerable families, and children with disabilities. To help out-of-school youth learn, cope with the insecurities of life in Ingushetia, and develop skills so they can provide for themselves in the future. CARE’s programme provides vocational courses in subjects such as mechanics, nursing, tailoring and computer skills; adult learning classes for out-of-school youth; life-skills education courses on topics such as civil and human rights, health, first aid, peaceful conflict resolution, mine awareness, HIV/AIDS, and drug abuse; and sports and recreational activities.
