01/01/2005 - 01/12/2006 (ongoing project)

Project goals
The IRC has established schools and provided them with trained psychologists who identify children displaying significant psychlogical stress. The IRC manages similar schools in 3 communities in Grozny. Currently, the IRC is supporting one community group in Ingushetia and two groups in Chechnya with guidance on organizing groups, identifying available resources, and formulating action plans for community recovery. This approach teaches communities to help themselves, which is one of the most viable solutions in the medium and long-term. The IRC support 13 schools for internally displaced children in spontaneous settlements in Ingushetia and have expanded support to ten schools in Grozny, Chechnya. |
