Project: Mother Empowerment Project (MEP)

Project goals

MEP is aimed at raising mothers’ awareness on various topics related to breastfeeding, immunization and the early recognition of common childhood illnesses. In 2006, UNICEF, through its training sessions, plans to target 8,000 resident and IDP pregnant women, mothers and other primary child care providers living in Chechnya and Ingushetia, through various implementing partners, including the Ingush Republican Centre for Disease Prevention and the Republican Children’s Policlinic in Chechnya. In parallel, UNICEF will distribute its brochures on breastfeeding to every pregnant women and mother attending the sessions.
