Project: Transportation of sputum samples to study resistance to anti-TB drugs in Ivanovskaya region

Project goals

Organize the system of transportation of sputum samples to study resistance to anti-TB drugs among all the patients with cultural-positive active TB in Ivanovskaya region.

Tasks

1.Study of drug resistant prevalence of mycobacteria TB to first and second row drugs,
2.Effectiveness evaluation of the method of drug resistance study.
3.Development and implementation of the reliable system of external quality control.

Activities

1.Before the beginning of the drug-resistance study all clinical-diagnostic laboratories were fully equipped to be able to collect and store sputum samples properly.
2.Organized system of interregional transportation of sputum into the bacteriological laboratory of the Regional Anti-TB Dispensary no fewer than once a week by the specialized auto-vehicle according to the set timetable.
