Project: Development of quality improvement system in primary care in St. Petersburg

01/01/2007 - 31/12/2009 (36 months)

Project goals

The project aims to develop a quality management system with both regional level and institutional level indicators for improving quality of care, especially for cardiovascular diseases, and HIV/AIDS and other STIs. The project also supports the development of a system of evidence-based guidelines for treatment and control of most common diseases. A model of quality improvement in a family medicine office will be created and tested. The project aims to incorporate quality management into the curriculum for residents who are in training for a competence in family medicine at MAPS. Family Medicine Centre at MAPS and Pontonnaya village polyclinic are the pilot sites of the project.
