The World AIDS Foundation (WAF) was established by the Department of Health and Human Services of the United States of America and the Institut Pasteur of France to make grants for the support of research and education relating to AIDS in the developing world. The Foundation makes awards to facilitate information exchange and to assist developing countries to undertake unique efforts to respond to the AIDS pandemic. The activities of the Foundation emphasize assistance to developing countries of the World to enable them to respond more comprehensively to the AIDS pandemic
