DENAL is an organisation specialised in psychosocial assistance to victims of war and torture and handicapped in Chechnya. Founded in 1995, its earliest programmes included 12 rehabilitation centres in Grozny and rural areas. Due to the war-situation DENAL moved its office to Ingushetia in 1999. The office is still based in Ingushetia, the activities are in Chechnya. DENAL is a locally staffed organisation of highly qualified and committed staff. It is acknowledged as an important player in its field and co-operates with a number of local and international organisations.
