AFEW is a Dutch, non-governmental, public health organisation working in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) to reduce the impact of HIV among vulnerable population. The orgnization was Founded in the Netherlands and launched on 1 December 2001(on the basis of MSF Holand). AFEW works together with ministry of justice, prison health experts, prison administrations, medical and non-medical staff, inmates and local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to build local capacity and ensure that people living within prison facilities have the same access to information and quality services as those living outside prison walls.
