Health Promotion and Prevention as a trans-sectoral theme within the: “Program for National Minorities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia”

Project goals
The programme aims to improve the living conditions of ethnic Germans in Central, Eastern and Southeast European states and in the territories of the former Soviet Union (CEE –CIS), thus offering them an alternative to resettlement in the Federal Republic of Germany.
At its core, the Programme for National Minorities revolves around measures designed to foster social cohesion.
Health promotion and prevention activities are implemented in close cooperation with youth, language and cultural centres and meeting places as well as with the activity area humanitarian and social assistance.
The core directions are:
•raising awareness and sensitizing youth to the theme of drugs, alcohol, HIV/ Aids;
•training project staff in the use of the “Join-in Circuit (Mitmach-Parcours) on Love, Aids and Sexuality” issued by the German Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA);
•training multipliers in systemic health promotion and HIV/ Aids prevention among youth and young adults
•developing curricula on health education for young people for implementation within the scope of youth language camps |
